Curiosity to Reality
Teachers are the forgers of students’ key to success!
There are two types of
teachers—primary and secondary. The primary teachers are the ones who taught us
the basics of life and living such as walk, talk, eat and taught us manners and
the likes. They armored us to protect us from afar. This type of teachers is
naturally teachers the moment they had us and they are allowed to teach even
without license—they are lawless. They would everything for their leaners—us.
They are our source of strength from the very beginning. On the other hand,
secondary teachers are those who dreamt and struggled to become one—mostly.
This type of teachers is licensed and abides rules and regulations laid by the
so-called government. These teachers build second home for us and equip us with
the knowledge we need in facing the harsh environment of reality. Hence, these
two teachers are our parents and our school teachers, respectively. These two
types of teachers may have differences but what they have in common is their
volition to see us succeed.
When I was little, my friends
and I would always play bahay-bahayan,tumbang
preso, jolen and many more. And sometimes, we dramatize a school-setting
play where I get to embody the role of a teacher. I would always insist on
playing the role of a teacher. On that note, I always admired my teachers. The
way they communicate with us, care about us and love us like their own flesh
and blood. Since then, I knew I was bound to be one. Though, there were times
when my will would waver, but I never succumb. I knew I should struggle first
to become others’ secondary teacher.
Until college. . .
As I stepped inside the MSU, I
have already envisioned myself as a Science teacher. I entered the university
with dream, aspirations and hope. The dream to be equipped with the knowledge
and experiences I need. The aspirations to become an excellent and passionate
teacher of inspired students. And the hope to educate the 21st
century learners with quality education. But before this, first I need to face
and conquer the challenges that await inside the university. From the harsh
professors, nexpected long quizzes and out of this world exam questions to the
deadlines that often put us to real distress. Unlike any other schools, MSU
really hones students’ capabilities and skills and disciplines the mental
faculty and moral characters of students. As a three year student of this
university, I’ve proven the volition of this school to produce locally and
globally competitive human resources.
All of my three-year experiences
and the subsequent year taught and will teach me things that will enable me to
cope up with the ever-changing 21st century learners. My quest for
excellence is yet to continue and I know that the outside world is waiting to
teach me things that no other institution could. But with all the adventures I had,
I can say that I am ready to be a 21st century teacher.
Wow. Good luck Teacher Rahima:)
